Although Southern Resident orcas are not "mammal-eaters," their distant cousins (though even that term is not correct, either) the transient orcas feed on seals, sea lions, porpoises and dolphins.
Yesterday we searched for J-Pod (SRKWs) members, T's (transients) or migrating gray whales, currently in the Salish Sea.
We had no luck with whales, but had some great luck in filming Stellar sea lions and harbor seals.
The clip below is an "outtake," though it may yet be incorporated into final footage. Who knows? The editing room floor is still clean at this point.
