The video below is a night time test shot I did recently. Aptly, I call it, "The Calm Before the Storm."

This is really that moment when the "Great Push" to get wild footage of salmon and orcas begins. From now until September, we'll be covering tens of thousands of square miles, talking with dozens of people and spending more than a month (total time) out finding and filming killer whales. The video below is a night time test shot I did recently. Aptly, I call it, "The Calm Before the Storm." Cheers, - Rick

Here's a brief clip of some pre-production footage we shot back in September 2013. This was part of a super-pod of Southern Resident Killer Whales that came by the Island Adventures Whale Watching boat we were filming from. We won't be using it in the final film, but we thought our fans might like to see it. Cheers! - Rick Here's a short outtake from filming on San Juan Island. A family of river otters (sea otters are found outside of Puget Sound) enjoy the sunshine of a warm winter day. The short clip above may be the first principle photography footage from "Fragile Waters," released for public view. What I like about it is that it clearly illustrates a big theme in the film: the relationship between all living beings, big....or small.
